Contracted by MMT AB to provide specialist multibeam personnel onboard the MV Stril Explorer for the Nord Stream 2 Detailed Geophysical Survey project. This high resolution survey is to be conducted within the Danish EEZ and Swedish EEZ, and performed using the S-ROV Surveyor Interceptor. The purpose of the survey is to gather very high resolution data along the proposed pipeline routes in order to detect any obstructions on the seabed over a combined corridor width of 180m. Capable of speeds up to 6 knots, the vehicle is equipped with a dual Kongsberg 2040 multibeam system, iXSea ROVINS and Sonardyne SPRINT inertial navigation systems, with a Cathx Ocean Imaging system used to take still images of the seafloor. High resolution (20cm) DTMs are supplemented with sidescan sonar and sub-bottom profiler information to enable target detection and route assessment. The EIVA software suite will be used for data acquisition and processing, with NaviModel used for cleaning, surface generation, data visualization and product generation.
